Amazon Cards for May Events

Since I am anticipating a busier than usual month with packing etc, I decided to check out Amazon to pick up a few cards for May.  May has several events for us this year: birthdays, Mother's Day and graduation.  I was so impressed with the selections I found on Amazon for these occasions that I decided it needed a post!  These are just a few of the fun things I found on Amazon for our May occasions.

WFMW: Computer Recycling

Hi friends!  I'm back with another Works for Me Wednesday post.  This time it's all about recycling computers.

I'm Back...with Big News

Hey y'all!  I took an unexpected blog break over the past few weeks.  Life got really busy really fast, so blogging had to take a back seat.

If you've been around here for awhile, you know that we've been thinking of moving.  We wanted to find a house that better fits our current stage of life, as well as leave the memories of Hurricane Harvey flooding behind us.  A few things fell into place that made it clear that now was a good time to pursue this change.

We started looking with our realtor, and it only took a few weeks to find a great one story about 15 minutes from our current home.  This house is a slight downsize from our current house.  It has an awesome patio and renovated kitchen, but no pool.  We will miss swimming in the summer, but sure won't miss the added cost and maintenance.

Once we got the contract settled for buying the new house, we decided to go ahead with putting our current home on the market.  Originally, we wanted to move into the new house and then list the house when it was empty.  We will not take possession of the new house until the end of May, since the sellers are leasing it back for one month. The real estate market here is hot right now, so we decided to go ahead and list it now.  Fingers crossed for an offer!

So I have been spending the last week cleaning and decluttering.  We have also been giving away and donating things we don't want to move.  We have a walk-in attic at this house which we won't have in the new one.  There were so many things we never used up in the attic that were just taking up space.

Now the house is almost ready for listing, and we can't wait to close on the new house and then move a month later.  In the meantime, we'll be: driving to Alabama and Georgia for moveout, celebrating Grace's 21st birthday, and taking a vacation to Vancouver.  Whew!  I'm worn out just thinking about all that!

I'm hoping to get back on track with my blog schedule!  Thank you so much to those who reached out to check on me.  It felt good to be missed here in the blogosphere!

Prime Purchases April 2023

Here we are already starting April 2023...are you getting April showers where you are?  We have been unusually cloudy here in Houston, but not many showers.  How was your online shopping month?  I hope you enjoying browsing through all the Prime Purchases posts this month...be sure to leave some comments!

Friday Favorites {March 31}

TGIF!  Friends, I just can't believe March 2023 is ending!  The year is flying by!  Our week was pretty quiet, with the highlight being a new fence being put up on one side of our yard.  The neighbor decided it was time to replace it, so we shared the cost.  I also added several extra volunteer shifts at the library, and I've been enjoying that.  Here are a few faves from the week.

March Books

Now THIS was a good reading month!  I had so many 5 star reads...let's get to it!

Spring Wardrobe Refresh

This month I did a little wardrobe refresh to replace some items that were looking worn in my closet.  I feel great wearing some new things and sending a few bags of clothes and shoes to charity.  Here's a look at the things I bought...just some basics to give some new energy to my wardrobe.

Share 4 Somethings March

Hey y'all!  For today's Friday Favorites, I'm linking up with Share 4 Somethings with Jennifer at Overflowing with Thankfulness.  She'll have the link up going tomorrow...last Saturday of each month.  We had a good week...the last of our cool weather, putting together some Easter care packages, and going on a little day trip with Michael today.  Here's a look at what I've been loving, reading, learning, and eating.

WFMW: Amazon Clinic

Hey y'all...I'm back with another Works for Me Wednesday post today.  This time it's all about using Amazon Clinic for common health concerns.

Spring Breakin'

Last week, I came to the startling conclusion that 2023 is the first year since 1974 that I have not had a "spring break."  Spring break does not always mean a vacation...in fact, it never meant that when I was growing up.  But starting as a student back in kindergarten, then as a teacher for 10 years, then as a mom...I've always had a spring break on the calendar.  (On second thought, I didn't have one for the first two years of Grace's life before she started preschool.)

Anyway, I felt like I was missing out a little when both kids had fabulous spring break plans!  Just kidding...I am so happy they both had something fun to do before the final stretch of the semester.  They both ended up in Florida for the first week of March, and I asked them to share a few pictures for the blog.
