I recently picked up a new travel toiletries bag, and my trip to London will be my chance to break it in. I'm writing this post before the trip, so I'll have to report back when I get back. You have probably seen this bag on Instagram and blogs. It is very popular, and for good reason. Let's take a look at some features that I like.
I love the quilted "Vera Bradley" style fabric on this bag. There is a mauve pink that is very popular, but I went with classic black. There is a pocket on the outside where I put my travel size face wipes.
Another feature that I like is that the bag will stand up on its own and has handles at the top. This is nice if you are sharing a bathroom and have to carry your bag in each time.
Here's a look at the bag completely unwrapped. I feel like my toiletries have expanded since the last post I did about "what's in my bag?" Maybe more skin products with age and also I have daily contact lenses in here for an 11 day trip. I like how all the sections are clear so you can really see what's in there. There are elastic straps in the large compartments to hold bottles, but I didn't use them.
One small section holds Qtips, toothbrush, and razor.
A large main section holds makeup, a small manicure set, and my contacts.
Another main section holds miscellaneous face and hair products.
And finally, here is the "first aid" section of the bag.
I love that the bag has a hook for hanging in the bathroom. When I purchased this, I was worried that putting so much into the bag would make it bulge out when closed...or even impossible to close. But no, it zips up just like a little suitcase and is so compact.
Here you can see how nicely it fits into my carry-on suitcase. It is about the size of a small packing cube. My record for a trip in a carry-on suitcase was Switzerland for 10 days. This time I have fit 11 days into the suitcase! A new record! Now if I can just lift it into the overhead bin...ha, ha! (I blurred the small packing cube since you could see some undergarments through the mesh!)
Hopefully I didn't forget anything in my packing.
I'm not too worried though since our hotel is next to a huge shopping area.

I've been contemplating a new travel toiletries bag! I may need this before the weekend...I'm going to check if it will ship before I leave. Thanks for sharing! I love these types of posts!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like it!
DeleteJust love it! I might have to get this, it’s a good one!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one, for sure!
DeleteThat's a great-looking bag and love that it can stand up or be hung from the hook.
ReplyDeleteIt's really versatile!
DeleteGabbie has two bags like this now. I usually use multiple bags for various items but now I'm thinking maybe this is a better idea!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great toiletries bag. I bought the backpack because I saw it on your blog. I love this backpack and all of the compartments. Thank you Tanya for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Loved the in-depth look at all the compartments. I still have an LL Bean one that my parents got me in middle school. Maybe one of these days I'll upgrade ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you still have the LL Bean bag. Their stuff lasts forever!
DeleteWhat a great bag. When I have seen this bag, it always makes me want re-configure how I travel with my products. Hope it all worked out for you with your trip and the jet lag isn't too bad since being home.
ReplyDeleteI am still recovering from the jet lag...it's no joke!
DeleteI really need a new bag! Did you have to take that out for TSA? Did you worry about the liquids? I want an update on how the bag worked and how you liked the backpack! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI have TSA pre-check, so don't have to remove liquids. If you don't have that, you would have to have liquids at less than 3oz each in a quart size bag. I had one lotion that leaked just a little, but it was easy to wipe the plastic inside. I loved the bag and the backpack too. The backpack is really functional, but looks nice!
DeleteI have this travel bag in pink and it's one of my favorite Amazon purchases EVER. I've been using it for nearly 2 years now and it has held up beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting a new travel bag like this, but always talked myself out of it. Seeing yours packed made me click the link and purchase. Then I thought about it and clicked again and bought three more for my daughter and two granddaughters for Christmas gifts. LOL
