It's the beginning of the month, and that means it's time for the Currently link up with Anne at In Residence. I just love responding to her prompts to talk about what's currently going on in our world. This month's topics: starting, buying, sharing, reading and recording.
Starting :: Two projects for this week. First, I'm going to tackle our guest room. It is a big mixup of pillows, home decor items, sheets, and other "stuff." I plan to clean things out, getting rid of items we haven't used in years. Second, I'm going to organize my recipe notebook. I ordered some sheet protectors and a new binder. I'm also going to re-print some of the recipes that look tattered.
Buying :: Absolutely nothing! I'm declaring this month "No Spend September" for myself. I will stay out of Target and Walmart, and stay away from Amazon.com! I think restricting my clothing and home decor purchases will be good for our budget. Now don't get me wrong...I will still be grocery shopping. And I do still plan to go out to eat once or twice a week. But all those little purchases sure do add up!
Sharing :: Somehow I picked up a free subscription to Family Circle magazine. They have undergone a complete redesign and now the whole magazine seems to be geared to mom's of teens. Cool! Anyway, they had a great list of 25 quick meals. I thought most of these looked like things we would all eat, so I'm sharing the link with you.
Reading :: I just finished The Ruin - a police/detective story set in Ireland. It was slow in the beginning but I couldn't put it down from about halfway through. Great read if you like books like the Tana French series
. Click over to my Media Monday post to see all my latest reads.
Recording :: I'm not really recording anything, but we are planning to watch the new Jack Ryan series on Amazon Prime Video. It sounds good!
Thanks for reading along...
