Grace was so excited to see the new American Girl of the Year for 2010. "Lanie" is a girl who loves nature, science, and exploring her own backyard. These characteristics, along with Lanie's long blond hair, really appealed to Grace.
We are working to "makeover" her blond American Girl doll into Lanie. We rolled the doll's hair on strips of cloth. By starting with damp doll's hair and leaving the rollers in 2 days, the doll ended up with soft curls and waves. She put the doll into an outfit she already had...hiking pants with a backpack.
Grace REALLY enjoyed one of her Christmas gifts...a craft kit from the American Girl line at Michael's. Aunt Sharon gave her a kit to make a banner for her room, and she loved it! If you haven't checked out the American Girl aisle at Michael's, you've got to see it. Even if your daughter isn't into the dolls, they are such fun crafts for elementary age girls.
