2019 Books

2019 was a great reading year for me.  With my new addiction to audio books and walking, I was able to plow through a lot of pages.  My goal for the year was to read 60 books...and I read a total of 76 books!  I'm kinda proud of myself! ;)  Here's a look at my year in books.

Are we friends on Goodreads?  I love to get recommendations from the people I follow there.  Goodreads is a fun way to track your reading.  I don't usually write reviews, but I always give a star rating as I finish books.  And at the end of the year, you end up with a cool graphic showing all your books.  You can see mine below.

Which books were my favorites this year?  It was so hard to pick!  There were so many that really stuck with me and made a lasting impression.  But if I had to choose just a few to recommend from 2019, here are my recommendations.

We Were the Lucky Ones - This book follows a Jewish family in Poland during WWII and the years that follow.  They are separated and endure many trials.  I couldn't stop thinking about this book, and learned so much about the era.

Ask Again, Yes - family drama at its finest

Summer of '69 - One of the best E.H. books

A Non-fiction pick:
The Tech-Wise Family - this will change the way you look at technology in your home

These titles were strong runner-up's for my best of 2019 list.

I'm going to make just a few changes in my reading posts for next year.  First, I will no longer be doing a "New Books" post once a month.  I will just post any new books that I'm looking forward to in my monthly book review post.  Second, the title of my book reviews will change from Media Monday to January Books, February Books, etc.  I will continue to publish the review post during the last week of the month.

And finally, what was your FAVORITE book from 2019?
I can't wait to hear your recommendations!
